Louisville is known as a compassionate city - so help us show some love to our friends in Flint, MI. How, you ask? It's easy - Show Some Love to Flint With No Strings Attached by cleaning out your closet and donating shoes or cleaning out the pockets of your pants and donating that newly discovered dollar bill! Louisville Water, MSD, Louisville Water Foundation, WaterStep and the city of Louisville have joined forces to create the FlintLove campaign. During the month of February, the campaign will raise much needed money for the new Flint Child Health & Development Fund, a fund created by the Community Foundation of Greater Flint that focuses on meeting the long-term needs of children exposed to lead. Our goal is to raise at least $30,000 for the children of Flint.
You can contribute to the FlintLove campaign in two ways: donate shoes to WaterStep or make a monetary donation through Louisville Water Foundation.
Drop off shoes of any size, style and condition to any of WaterStep's 100+ drop boxes in Jefferson County or at their main office at 625 Myrtle Street. At the end of the month, WaterStep will donate dollars equal to the amount of collected shoes - a tractor trailer filled with shoes typically equals $10,000. You can also bring your shoes to WaterStep's office on February 20 from 9am to Noon for a community donation day. Start cleaning out those closets now!
You may donate any amount to the campaign. Donate online through paypal or send a check, made payable to Louisville Water Foundation (charitable arm of Louisvlle Water Company) with FlintLove written in the subject line. Mail all checks to Louisville Water Foundation, 550 South Third Street, Louisville, KY 40202.
In early March, all donations will be totaled and one large donation will be made on behalf of the residents of Louisville. Now, let's start showing the love! #LouisvilleLove #FlintLove.
Thank you to all of our partners to have helped make this campaign a success!
