About the Program
Louisville Metro is collaborating with Louisville Water Foundation to distribute $4 million in funding to help those behind on utility bills as a result of COVID-19. Interested applicants will apply for the credit on the Metro COVID-19 Relief portal, powered by PromisePay, by answering a brief three question survey. The credit is a part of the newly launched Drops of Kindness program, an effort by Louisville Water and Louisville MSD to help customers with unpaid bills. The one-time credit is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This special Metro COVID-19 Relief credit is part of the city’s $10 million general fund from the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, & Economic Security) Act. The funds will be distributed by the Office of Resiliency Services under agreements with the utilities and foundations.
For those who do not meet the criteria for the Metro COVID-19 Relief funds, Drops of Kindness offers customized payment plans, direct-bill relief through community agencies, and other discounts.
