Student provides Snack Sacks for Good

Megan Delande spent money she earned babysitting and pet watching to help others.

The Kentucky Country Day student (and daughter of Allison Delande, a former Event Operations Supervisor at Louisville Water Tower Park) said she was looking for “a meaningful way to contribute to my community during the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine.”

Delande came up with Snack Sacks for Good, which provides snacks to Louisville’s frontline workers, including hundreds of healthcare employees as well as some Louisville Water crews.

“Each Snack Sack for Good provides a nutritious, high protein snack along with a reusable Louisville pure tap® bottle to maintain healthy hydration practices,” Delande said. Snack Sacks also include “an inspirational message of hope, encouragement, and thanks from me,” she added.

She has received donations to expand the program, and her efforts were highlighted on a WLKY news report. The photos below show some of the Louisville Water employees who received Snack Sacks.
