Every day, Louisville Pure Tap® flows fresh from the faucet to keep life flowing for nearly a million people. But have you ever wondered how Louisville Water works behind the scenes to provide this essential resource?
Discover the “river to faucet” journey with us at Louisville Water’s fall open house! This fall tradition happens right where the story of your drinking water begins – the iconic Louisville Water Tower.
On the same property where landmark filtration experiments occurred in the late 1800s, we’re diving into the water treatment process to show you step by step how we turn Ohio River water into high-quality, award-winning Pure Tap.
Meet some of our scientists, explore the WaterWorks Museum in the Original Pumping Station No. 1, learn about the oldest ornamental standing water tower in the country (it’s ours!), hang out with everyone’s favorite mascot Tapper, and enjoy fall snacks, plus kids can hop into one of our crew trucks!
So, cross visiting this National Historic Landmark off your must-see list and save the date. You’re invited to our FREE open house on Sunday, November 8 from noon to 5 p.m.
Can’t make it that day? Louisville Water Tower is open every second Sunday of the month or you can book a field trip or group tour.
