Pure Tap in the crowdThe city of Louisville is amping up for hundreds of bands to command multiple stages over the next two weeks. Louder Than Life and &Beyond (ICYMI: the festival did a “remix” and dropped Bourbon from the name) will take over the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center parking lots.

Bringing in tens of millions of dollars for the local economy, the festivals attract hundreds of thousands of fans every year. We’ve gotta keep all those fans hydrated and there’s no better choice than award-winning Louisville Pure Tap®!

We encourage everyone to Drink Like a Local and enjoy the festivals responsibly. Fill, drink, and repeat at several hydration stations set up around the grounds. Louisville Water works hard behind the scenes to ensure high-quality water flows from the tap.

Water testing concerts“There are areas in the fairgrounds that get little to no water usage and need flushing to push out the hot, old stagnant water so we can bring in the cold, tasty PureTap that people expect. We know we need to start early to ensure good quality water from the beginning to the end of the festivals,” explained Distribution Water Quality Specialist Christina Ferguson.

Following the flushing process, Ferguson collects water samples from each hydration station site to send to our EPA-certified laboratory for testing.

“In this heat, it’s important to have cold, good quality water so people can dance, sing, and simply enjoy the experience,” she said.
