Made With Pure Tap: Cheers to Rabbit Hole Distillery

Made with Pure Tap logoIn Kentucky, we raise a glass to bourbon year-round. The state produces 95% of the world’s bourbon. During National Bourbon Heritage Month, Louisville Water is raising a glass to our latest Made With Pure Tap® partner- Rabbit Hole Distillery.

Made With Pure Tap highlights local businesses who use and rely on Pure Tap to keep their operations flowing. And you can’t have great bourbon without great water!

Rabbit Hole Distillery is located in the heart of NuLu in Louisville. Owner Kaveh Zamanian moved to Kentucky after he met his wife, a Louisville native. Surrounded by bourbon country, Zamanian’s passion for bourbon grew and he was inspired to create his own spirits company.

“In addition to the grains, Louisville Pure Tap is a critical part of what goes into our products. One of the most important things when it comes to water is to make sure that you don’t have iron and sulfur, essentially ingredients that are not good for bourbon production,” Zamanian said.

“One of the most important things about Louisville Water and Louisville tap (water) is that it’s essentially good water, perfect for distilling.”

Rabbit Hole honored Louisville Water’s history in its special Single Barrel release, Cavehill, in 2023. The limited-edition collection featured six local landmarks on the bottle labels. Among them was the Louisville Water Tower, the oldest ornamental standing water tower in the country.
