Raising a Glass to High-quality Water and Bourbon for Bourbon Heritage Month

Exceptional water is key to exceptional bourbon. Louisville Water provides the essential ingredient to around 20 distilleries. We like to think of Louisville Pure Tap® as bourbon’s best friend.

As we celebrate Bourbon Heritage Month in September, we recognize bourbon is a multi-billion-dollar industry in Kentucky year-round.

“Water is the most important ingredient, so you have to start with water and it has to be wonderful water to make wonderful whiskey,” said Brittany Allison, brand director for the Bourbon Women Association.

Bourbon Women members recently visited Louisville Water Tower during their SIPosium annual conference. They learned about Pure Tap from one of Louisville Water’s expert scientists while enjoying a water tasting paired with a bourbon tasting.
