WaterPro is the first water leak protection plan developed and offered by a public water utility
Nearly one in five Louisville Water customers experiences a water leak each year, leading to unexpected and costly water bills. To address this, Louisville Water launched the WaterPro Water Leak Protection Plan℠, an affordable service available to homeowners across Louisville and several surrounding counties. WaterPro provides financial relief from excess water charges caused by undetected leaks—charges that most homeowners’ insurance policies do not cover.
Here’s how it works:
For $3 per month, WaterPro covers up to $3,000 in excess water charges resulting from qualifying leaks, ensuring homeowners aren’t left with the financial burden of paying for water they didn’t use. WaterPro is the first service of its kind developed by a public water provider, demonstrating Louisville Water’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that directly benefit its customers.
“Water leaks are a common problem for homeowners, ranging from dripping faucets and running toilets to cracks in plumbing and water heater issues,” said Spencer Bruce, president and CEO of Louisville Water. “Every year, one in five customers contacts Louisville Water because of a higher-than-normal bill. And, nearly every time, the cause for the spike is a water leak. WaterPro solves a problem and takes care of the excess water and wastewater charges from a qualifying leak. It’s peace of mind for homeowners.”
Filing a claim with WaterPro is simple. Homeowners can submit claims online, and once approved, excess charges are credited directly to their Louisville Water bill. Coverage includes one claim per 12-month period.
Additionally, our Pure Connect℠ can help customers catch leaks before they lead to costly problems. There is a tracking tool that allows homeowners to monitor their daily water consumption and detect potential leaks early by identifying unusual spikes in water usage.
