Louisville Water’s Pure Tap 5k is back!

 

Popular race returns after 2020 hiatus

The Louisville Sports Commission, in partnership with Louisville Water Company, is hosting its family-friendly Louisville Pure Tap™ 5k on Sat., Sept. 11, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. at Louisville Water Tower Park, which is located at 3005 River Road. Runners, walkers, and kids of all ages are welcome.

The annual race begins and ends at home of Louisville’s drinking water and follows a course that runs east and west on River Road. It will be professionally chip timed, and all participants will receive a commemorative Pure Tap 5k neck buff. The race is back for its 10th year, after being cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Participants can register online until September 10 or in person at Louisville Water Tower Park on the morning of the race. The entry fee cost is $30. Those already registered may pick up their race packets on Fri., Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on the morning of the race beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Louisville Water Tower Park.

The Pure Tap 5k is the first race in the Louisville Sports Commission’s Fall Runathon Series, which is a group of three fall running races that provides unique courses and quality experiences for participants. Following the Pure Tap 5k is the Norton Sports Health 10k, set to take place on Sat., Oct. 2 at the Parklands of Floyds Fork. The Fall Runathon concludes with the Urban Bourbon Half Marathon presented by Jim Beam® on Sat., Oct. 16.
