The alarm clock rings a little earlier these days for some Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) elementary students. So, having a group of enthusiastic cheerleaders to welcome them to school can set the tone for a great day!

“Experiencing the smile on the faces of the kids completes my day,” shared Louisville Water Metering Specialist Nate Frederick.

Frederick championed efforts to get more Louisville Water fathers involved in JCPS’ Flash Dads program.

“I wanted others to get that sense of satisfaction that they are making someone’s day special, and it doesn’t require much but high fives and smiles,” he said.

“What a great way to start the day seeing the smiles and the expressions on the kids’ faces and it also enlightens my day!!” he exclaimed.

Louisville Water employees will join other “Flash Dad” appearances at Cochrane, Slaughter, Blake, and Medora elementary schools throughout the year.
