Jennifer Crough headshotJennifer Crough began her career in the private sector, building expertise by managing financial operations for global manufacturing and digital design companies.

“I came to Louisville Water looking for a company where I can gain long-term stability beyond private equity,” she said. She also wanted to “step into a CFO role where I can add broader strategic value and lead a strong team.”

As Vice President of Finance and Treasurer, Crough oversees all finance-related functions at Louisville Water. She has wide-ranging responsibilities, including directing annual budgets, long-term financial planning, rate setting, and managing accounting and financial statements. She also oversees procurement, cash management, investment activities, and bond compliance. She supervises accounts payable, receivable, and payroll operations.

Crough points to her transition from the private sector to public service as both a challenge and a refreshing change.

“I’m used to working in very privately held organizations where transparency was never top-of-mind and it was all about making as much money as possible for the investors,” she said.

“It is very refreshing to be more open—to work for an organization that wants a good balance of providing value to its shareholder but also values its employees and the community at the same time.”

Outside the office, Crough enjoys spending time with her husband, two teenage daughters, five cats, and a dog. The family often gathers with friends, attends concerts and festivals, and keeps up with their favorite TV shows, books, and movies.
