Named for a former chief scientist at Louisville Water Company, the Rengao Song Scholarship recognizes the value of research in improving water quality and public health. The Kentucky-Tennessee American Water Works Association annually awards the $10,000 scholarship to a graduate student in either state.

Eligibility requirements:
- Student must be a Kentucky or Tennessee resident enrolled in a graduate degree program in one of the states
- Must be enrolled full-time in a graduate degree program in biological or physical sciences, engineering, or other field related to drinking water science and technology
- Maintain a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.25 out of 4.0
The committee will award the scholarship based on the value of the student’s research and how it supports the improvement of water quality and treatment in Kentucky and Tennessee.
The deadline to submit your application is May 8, 2026.
The scholarship will be awarded at the 2026 KY/TN Water Professionals Conference in Lexington, KY on July 21.
