Worked at Louisville Water since 1997
Judy Chodyniecki began her career at Louisville Water nearly 30 years ago, starting a journey that would take her through almost every part of the company. She treasures her memories of the early days, keeping her first employee badge in her jewelry box.
Chodyniecki, a Navy veteran, started as a customer service representative at Louisville Water in 1997. After a short time, she moved to the engineering department and again to human resources. Eventually, she went to work in the planning department at Louisville Water’s Allmond Avenue facility.

“I’ve worked in almost every department in this company,” Chodyniecki said. “I like Allmond Avenue the best, of course.”
She’s still at Allmond Avenue today, working as a distribution associate in the distribution planning & administration department. In her role, Chodyniecki manages payroll timekeeping, credit card expenses and invoices—work that keeps her busy.
“I was told by accounting that I paid the most invoices in the company,” Chodyniecki explained.
Her coworkers describe her as a hard worker, who gets the job done right. Chodyniecki laughed as she recalled how a former supervisor once nicknamed her, “Little General” because of her ability to coordinate work and keep operations moving smoothly.

That leadership paired with a great sense of humor has made her a favorite among colleagues.
“We’ve had a lot of laughs. She’s always been fun,” said Kimberly Allen, a fellow distribution associate who has worked with Chodyniecki for 15 years.
Chodyniecki takes pride in her work and the high quality and reliability of Louisville Pure Tap®, even when she’s off the clock.
“The Louisville Water Company has the best water,” she said. “We even took our (Louisville Pure Tap) bottle to Disney World… It’s always nice to be really proud of what you do.”

When asked what has kept her at Louisville Water for nearly three decades, Chodyniecki’s answer was simple.
“I really enjoy working for the Louisville Water Company. I’ve met a lot of great people here.”
Outside of work, Chodyniecki enjoys quiet time at home with her husband and their two dogs, often relaxing on the deck. She also cherishes time spent with her three children and two young grandchildren.
When asked if retirement was on the horizon, Chodyniecki smiled and had this to say:
“As long as they keep me happy, I won’t retire.”
After nearly 30 years, it’s clear Chodyniecki remains happy at Louisville Water, and her colleagues are just as glad she’s stayed. Cheers—with a glass of Louisville Pure Tap—to many more great years!
