Applications Accepted for Rengao Song Scholarship

Dr. SongNamed for a former chief scientist at Louisville Water, the Rengao Song Scholarship recognizes the value of research in improving water quality and public health. The Kentucky-Tennessee American Water Works Association annually awards the $10,000 scholarship to a graduate student in either state.


Eligibility requirements:

  • The student must be a Kentucky or Tennessee resident enrolled in a graduate degree program in one of the states.
  • The student must be enrolled full-time in a graduate degree program in biological or physical sciences, engineering, or other field related to drinking water science and technology.
  • The student should have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.25 out of 4.0.

The scholarship will be awarded based on the value of the student’s research and how it supports the improvement of water quality and treatment in Kentucky and Tennessee.

The deadline to apply for this year’s award is May 30, 2025.

The scholarship will be awarded at the 2025 KY/TN Water Professionals Conference in Knoxville, Tennessee on July 29. The recipient will be required to attend.
