In April, Dr. Sharon Kerrick concluded a nearly 12-year presence on the Board of Water Works, the governing body for Louisville Water. Appointed by former Mayor Greg Fischer in December 2013, Dr. Kerrick provided important leadership and expertise to Louisville Water and served for a time as the Board’s vice-chair. A recognized expert in innovation, business, and organizational development, Dr. Kerrick has spent much of her career at the University of Louisville where she is currently an Associate Professor and Assistant Vice President of the Digital Transformation Center.
During her time on the Board, Dr. Kerrick’s expertise was especially helpful in our efforts to launch complex digital systems and develop new products and services. With a relentless focus on the value of our employees, Dr. Kerrick also supported our efforts to continually improve the employee experience.
“Dr. Kerrick was a great friend and advocate for Louisville Water. She consistently challenged us as an organization to stretch our goals to ensure we continually improve and is a strong supporter of the excellent work that Louisville Water does for this community to grow and prosper,” said Louisville Water President & CEO Spencer Bruce. “I appreciated her time as a Board member and look forward to continuing to work with her as opportunities arise.”
Ken Marshall, Chief Operations Officer for UofL Health and Chief Administrative Officer at UofL Hospital, will replace Dr. Kerrick.
The Board of Water Works is the seven-member, bi-partisan governing body for Louisville Water Company. The mayor serves ex-officio and appoints the remaining six members for staggered, four-year terms.
