Excitement grows for Earth Day celebration

Did you know that most single-use water bottles end up our landfills or oceans? Plastics in landfills can take over 450 years to breakdown!

Using Louisville pure tap® refillable water bottles can make a BIG difference Earth Day and every day.

Throughout the month of April, Louisville Water will feature stories about sustainability and highlight our partners city-wide that have helped to make Louisville a more environmentally friendly city.

WHAS 11 News is helping us spread with word about water and sustainability as part of their Earth Month campaign. Keep an eye out for special interviews with Claudia Coffey and Louisville Water’s own Kelley Dearing Smith, as part of the WHAS 11 exclusive coverage of Thunder of Louisville. You might even catch a few dance moves from Louisville’s favorite cup of water – Tapper!

After the fireworks have come and gone, there is still more Earth Month excitement to come. Stay tuned for a BIG announcement from Louisville Water on Earth Day, April 22. WHAS 11 will help us talk about the environmental impact of single-use plastics, as we reveal the total number of plastic bottles that our area partners have helped save from landfills through bottle-filling stations.

There is so much to celebrate, and we’re excited to partner with WHAS 11 to share this important message and celebrate Earth Month in Louisville!
