Foundation and Louisville Water support tornado relief efforts

We were all heartbroken when we learned of the disaster in western Kentucky over the weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this devastation. To support our friends and neighbors, Louisville Water and the Louisville Water Foundation are launching several efforts to help those impacted by tornadoes that tore across the state.

The Foundation is donating $10,000 to the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund and is exploring the possibility of a donation to Louisville-based WaterStep, which will be sending safe water and disinfectant equipment (including a Water on Wheels Cart) to western Kentucky.

Louisville Water will meet with the Board of Water Works next week to request approval to set aside $20,000 to assist local organizations across western Kentucky that are working in impacted communities. In addition, we are investigating how our employees can support this effort.

Louisville Water has also offered technical assistance and crew expertise to affected areas through the Kentucky Rural Water Association and the Kentucky Division of Water, and we are waiting to hear how we can best provide help. As you can imagine, the situation is ever-changing. We want to contribute with our knowledge and resources where and when they are needed.
