Harry Potter, a sleepy lion, a dancing minion and a tyrannosaurus rex were strolling down the sidewalk last week in the Smoketown neighborhood near downtown Louisville. The unusual cast of characters were part of a Trunk or Treat Halloween event sponsored by the Smoketown Family Wellness Center on South Hancock Street.
About 300 neighbors attended the festivities and most live within walking distance of the center.
Local community groups, including Louisville Water, passed out candy, small toys and other treats to costumed children and their parents. In addition to traditional Halloween sweets, Louisville Water also Louisville Pure Tap™ bottles. What better way to wash all that sugar off your teeth!
The Smoketown Family Wellness Center encourages a healthy lifestyle by providing clinical care to children in a community-based environment. Louisville Water provides health-related programming throughout the year, including lessons on hydration and handwashing.
