Keeping Cool at St. Joe’s Picnic

St. Joe 2023 picnicTens of thousands of people visited the 174th Annual St. Joe’s Picnic, and a large portion of the crowd stopped by the Louisville Water booth to cool off with a refreshing cup of Louisville Pure Tap®.

A fundraiser for the St. Joseph Children’s Home, the picnic featured chicken dinners, casino-style games, raffles, and live music. Many of the attendees thanked the Louisville Water team for providing free, ice-cold water as they filled up Pure Tap cups or their own reusable water bottles. There was even a “paws for a drink” water dish for pets.

The weather Saturday afternoon was especially hot and humid, and some of the people who stopped at the Louisville Water booth didn’t want to just drink Pure Tap — they poured it on their head.

St. Joe picnic“I’ve taken photos at dozens, if not hundreds, of community events where Louisville Water has a booth, and I’ve never been able to get a photo of someone dousing himself with water,” said Louisville Water Communications Specialist Thomas Pack. “At the St. Joe’s Picnic, I got three photos like that.”
