Time-Lapse Video Provides Unique Perspective on Tower Restoration

This time-lapse video condenses months of work (July 2023 – February 2024) to provide an incredible overview of the recently completed restoration of the Louisville Water Tower. You’ll see scaffolding and giant sheets of plastic removed to reveal the refurbished Tower (the oldest standing ornamental water tower in the country) as well as the renovations to Pumping Station No. 1.

You can get an up-close look at the facilities (3005 River Road) during our grand reopening on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17.  Tours begin at 11 a.m. and continue every hour, with the last tour starting at 4 p.m. The WaterWorks Museum will be open along with the Grand Hall, which overlooks the Ohio River. Our Tapper mascot will join the fun and make a guest appearance for the festivities. Tickets range from $3 – $5.
