Treatment plants earn national awards

Louisville Water’s treatment plants recently earned two top honors in the annual awards presented by the Partnership for Safe Water, an alliance of six national drinking water organizations.

• The B. E. Payne Water Treatment Plant and the Crescent Hill Water Treatment Plant earned the  Phase III 20 Year Directors Award for Water Treatment.
• The Crescent Hill plant also earned the Five Year Phase IV Excellence in Water Treatment Award.

The awards recognize water utilities “for their long-term commitment to optimizing operations, achieving outstanding performance, and protecting the environment and public health,” according to the Partnership for Safe Water.

The 2020 awards ceremony was held virtually, and a video is available on YouTube.

The recent awards join a long list of honors our treatment plants and our water have received over the years.
