Drinking Water Week: Learn the History in Your Glass!

Louisville Water is raising a glass of Louisville Pure Tap® to celebrate Drinking Water Week. Every year, the American Water Works Association observes the week to highlight the importance of safe, clean drinking water and the water professionals who are dedicated to providing it.

Public health is at the core of what Louisville Water does every day. Did you know the Louisville Water Tower and original Pumping Station No. 1 (now home to our WaterWorks Museum) are located at the same place where landmark research on water filtration occurred?

Join us this Sunday at Louisville Water Tower between noon and 5 p.m. Tours run at the top of the hour beginning at 1 p.m. with the last tour starting at 4 p.m. Each one includes a walk inside the Tower, admission to the museum, and a look inside a current pumping station where you’ll see an historic steam pumping engine we fondly call the “quiet giant”. In honor of Mother’s Day, the first five moms will receive a special gift bag.
