Golf Scramble was a success — again

The Third Annual Jimmy Stone Memorial Golf Scramble raised $11,279 for the Jimmy Stone Locker Room, which is operated by the Rajon Rondo Foundation.

“This year’s golf scramble was another huge success!,” said Local 1683 President Adam Carter, who spearheaded the event. “My thanks to everyone that played, sponsored, donated and volunteered. I could not have done it without you! It takes over $10,000 annually to fund the Jimmy Stone Memorial Locker Room, and we hit that goal once again.”

Held at Long Run Golf Course on September 25, the scramble had more than 35 sponsorships (the most ever). Twenty-four teams participated. Prizes were given for first, second, third, and last place. The event also included longest putt and closest-to-the-hole competitions, raffle prizes, and a silent auction.

“The weather was not the best,” Carter said. “It rained more than an hour, but it didn’t stop us. It is a good feeling when you know that you can put on an event like this and not only does it honor one of our fallen co-workers but also supplies the needs for the at-risk children who benefit from the Jimmy Stone Memorial Locker Room.”
