Promoting Healthy Change

Healthy Change eventLouisville Water was part of the Healthy Change event hosted this summer by Change Today, Change Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization providing food, health services, and community engagement for marginalized neighborhoods.

“We protect, defend, and meet the needs of those who have been counted out,” said founder and Executive Director Taylor Ryan.

At the Healthy Change event, about 100 area residents picked up free vegetable plants and tips on growing them. Medical screenings were available, too.

“Louisville Water was the produce sponsor, providing fresh, free produce grown by black business owners,” said Barbara Crow, the company’s Community Relations Specialist.

Louisville Water also provided information on bill assistance and finding leaks in home plumbing. A Louisville Pure Tap® station kept attendees hydrated. Crow and Education & Outreach Specialist Heather Hill gave out free copies of Tapper’s Big Adventure – Where’s the Water as well as Tapper plushies.
