Access still available for golf course and pool
Per the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Louisville Water will close Reservoir Avenue between Brownsboro Road and Frankfort Avenue to thru traffic starting Monday December 6.
The public can access the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center and the Crescent Hill Reservoir from Frankfort Avenue only. Those who want to use the Crescent Hill Golf Course can do so from Brownsboro Road only.
The attached map shows the new traffic pattern. The closure is part of Louisville Water’s Frankfort Avenue Main Replacement Project. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet requested this change because some motorists have ignored the local access notice and are using Reservoir Avenue as a detour, increasing traffic on Reservoir Avenue.
The official detour for the Frankfort Avenue Main Replacement Project remains Chenoweth Lane to Brownsboro Road. Reservoir Avenue was originally kept open to local traffic for those who want to visit the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center, the Crescent Hill Golf Course, use the walking path around the Crescent Hill Reservoir, or reach businesses on Frankfort Avenue between Chenoweth and Brownsboro.
The public still have access to businesses and restaurants on Frankfort Avenue.
As the project progresses, we will notify the public when the road will be reopened. Click Here to learn more about the Frankfort Avenue project.
