A water main break near the University of Louisville caused detours for students driving and walking to class Friday morning.
The break was reported at 9 a.m. near 4th Street and Industry Road, just before the overpass by University Pointe Apartments.
Several buildings in the area were without water until late Friday afternoon.
Due to the standing water and mud, students walking to and from class near Minardi Hall were advised to find alternate routes.
Louisville Water crews at the scene warned drivers to avoid the area. Fourth Street reopened Saturday with limited access.
