Dear Louisville Water Company Customers,
As we move into the fourth week of a “new” normal, your employment may look very different, and our once vibrant community feels quiet. The coronavirus pandemic has dramatically changed our world.
But through this crisis, it’s important you know that Louisville Water is here for you. We’re a lifeline to this community and quality of water equals quality of life. Our services are critical every day, but even more so in this pandemic as soap and water are essential to help stop the spread of this virus.
Louisville’s Drinking Water is Safe and High Quality
Your drinking water, Louisville pure tap®, is still the same high-quality product. There’s no need to worry about the safety of your drinking water with the coronavirus. We’ve taken additional precautions to protect our facilities and employees. In fact, studies show the disinfection we use to treat the water, chlorine, kills water-borne viruses. Enjoy the drinking water at your home, hydration is key. Louisville Water doesn’t believe you need to stock up on bottled water for this emergency. You can learn more about these at “COVID-19 Response” on LouisvilleWater.com.
Helping Our Community
We recognize that many of our customers are dealing with a challenging financial situation. We want to help. During this national emergency, we have suspended turning off water service when there’s a late payment. If you have trouble paying your Louisville Water bill, please reach out to us. We’ll work with you for your individual situation. Through the Louisville Water Foundation, our company, along with Louisville MSD, has allocated over $500,000 for local non-profits that provide customer assistance.
An Essential Workforce
Louisville Water’s employees are committed to delivering outstanding service. Ours is a business that cannot close, and I’m extremely proud of our workforce that’s keeping that promise every day. Louisville Water began in 1860 and for nearly 160 years protecting public health has always been at the core of what we do.
As we manage through this crisis together, I wish you and your family good health. Stay safe!
