Black History Month: Chemist Calvin Jones

Associate Chemist Calvin Jones was hired by Louisville Water in 1980.

A graduate of the University of Louisville, Jones worked as a lab tech at the Fort Southwick sewage treatment plant before coming to Louisville Water.

In 1961 the Courier Journal noted he, his wife and young daughter were the first family to move into a new urban renewal neighborhood in the Park DuValle Colonial Park neighborhoods.

Jones worked for Louisville Water for eight years and died in 1988. He was 54 years old.
