Celebrating water with the Louisville Free Public Library

Louisville Water has partnered with the Louisville Free Public Library for two exciting community events. Louisville Water is proud to sponsor a photography contest exploring water in Louisville called Ripple Effects. Open to all K-12 students in the Louisville area, the contest invites young people to capture images of what water means to them – everything from beauty and function to water-related issues.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the best photographs in the following age categories: Kindergarten through 2nd grade; 3rd through 5th grade, middle school, and high school. The winning entries will also be featured in an exhibit this fall as part of the Louisville Photo Biennial. Upload your photo by June 10 at the Library’s website.

The Library also hosted a drive-thru preschool event at Southern High School, and they invited Louisville Water to join the party! Nearly 350 families made it to the event on Saturday morning. As they drove through, kids and parents were greeted by some of their favorite storybook characters and Louisville’s favorite cup of water — Louisville Water’s mascot, Tapper!

Each child received a water bottle and other goodies from Louisville Water, as well as a complimentary book from the Library. It’s hard to say who was more excited – the kids or Tapper! When Louisville Water and the Louisville Free Public Library join forces, the fun is always flowing.
