Worked at Louisville Water since 2000
During National Water Quality Month, we took a few moments to catch up with Tapper, Louisville Water’s fun-loving mascot and ambassador for Louisville Pure Tap®.
Whether he’s teaching kids about healthy hydration and hygiene, showing off the latest dance moves at community events with the Pure Tap team, or sharing a hug with the littlest Pure Tap fan, Tapper stays busy and on the go!
“I started working at Louisville Water in 2000. It’s hard to believe I’ve been here for almost 25 years!” Tapper said. “I really love my job and it makes me happy when I see people drinking lots of Louisville Pure Tap®.”
Some people may think that Tapper is shy since he doesn’t speak, but he’s really one of the most outgoing mascots you’ll ever meet.
“I like to give lots of high fives and hugs,” he said. “I want people to be happy and hydrated because that’s the best way to be.”
Tapper said the best part of his job is meeting new people.
“My work schedule gets really busy in the summer. Just last week alone, I threw the first pitch at the Louisville Bats baseball game, the week before that I went to a basketball camp at the KFC Yum! Center, and the week before that I was at a Louisville City FC game!” he said. “Reminding people to stay hydrated is a fun job, especially with so many places around town to fill, drink, repeat Louisville Pure Tap®.”
In Tapper’s free time, he likes to crack open an ice-cold Pure Tap bottle and read his favorite book Tapper’s Big Adventure – Where’s the Water?
If you’d like to see Tapper in person, he’ll be at the Pure Tap 5K on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Louisville Water Tower. Tap here to register.
