Tapper’s Big Adventure: Where’s the Water?

It’s an exciting week for Louisville Water’s beloved mascot, Tapper! Just in time to kick off National Young Readers Week, our new children’s book: Tapper’s Big Adventure – Where’s the Water? is hot off the press.

In the book, Tapper is feeling a little blue until he realizes his love for Louisville Pure Tap® is shared by many in our community. Join him on his journey where he meets friends, firefighters, chefs, farmers, and more!

To celebrate the book launch, Tapper has visited schools all over our service area this week. Wednesday morning’s storytime at Field Elementary was extra special. Because Field is located behind the Crescent Hill Filter Plant, Louisville Water teams up with them throughout the year for events. The school was one of our first ‘test audiences’ for the book.

Children gathered eagerly in Field Elementary’s library while Louisville Water and Education Outreach Manager, Channa Newman, read to them.

“The storybook is a perfect tool to teach children about the important role safe, clean water plays in their lives every day and in the health of our community,” Newman said.

“It’s been so rewarding to see kids enjoying the book – especially when Tapper makes his appearance. With all the cheers and high-fives, it’s impossible not to smile!” added Pure Tap Public Relations Specialist, Kayla Hanak.

Tapper’s Big Adventure is an easy-to-read book and a great addition to a child’s book collection.
