Louisville Water scores an excellent report card

Year after year, Louisville Water Company produces some of the best drinking water in the United States. Now customers can see those results in our Annual Water Quality Report, which publishes our water testing findings from 2020.

Louisville Water met the strict health requirements established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and maintains the long-standing tradition of excellent water quality.

This announcement comes as we observe Drinking Water Week (May 2-8). Drinking Water Week, established in 1988 by the American Water Works Association, celebrates the vital role that drinking water plays in our everyday lives.

“The theme of the week is “There When You Need It,” and that rings true for Louisville Water customers especially during this past year when water was vital to both handwashing and staying healthy during the coronavirus pandemic,” said Kelley Dearing Smith, Vice President of Communications and Marketing for Louisville Water.

The report highlights Louisville Water’s 2020 test results for EPA regulated substances at the treatment plants, within the distribution system, and at select customers’ taps. In addition to test results, the report also outlines our treatment process, the sources of the drinking water, information on our lead program and more. The nearly one million people in our service area have high-quality drinking water at their faucet because of the hundreds of dedicated employees at Louisville Water. It’s an around the clock job that requires dedication, know-how, and flexibility in a year marked with the coronavirus pandemic.
