Kids Finish First with Pure Tap

The calendar might not officially say it’s summer, but it has definitely felt like it recently. A sure reminder for us to stay hydrated with Louisville Pure Tap™! It’s especially important for our younger ones who are staying active outside.

Pure Tap made it easier for all the kiddos who laced up their shoes for Kids Finish First to quench their thirst. On May 16, Kids Finish First presented by UofL Health held a final-mile celebration at Flaget Field Park in the Chickasaw neighborhood in West Louisville.

The Louisville Sports Commission program aims to get local kids between five and 14 years old exercising and motivated to stay healthy.

The goal is to complete a half marathon (13.1 miles) over the course of six weeks. Participants log the first 12 miles on their own. Then everyone comes together to run or walk the final 1.1 miles on a special course, cross the finish line, and receive their medal. Pure Tap provided refillable bottles for all the runners to enjoy a well-deserved drink of water!

Students from West End School, Beecher Terrace, and the Louisville Metro Police Activities League participated in the race at Flaget Field. Two more final-mile celebrations are scheduled later this year. Since 2013, more than 4,000 local kids have been involved with Kids Finish First.
