High School Senior has an eye for historic photography

Marjorie Mays is a senior at duPont Manual High School and when she’s not studying, she enjoys regular walks at the Crescent Hill Reservoir.

The historic gatehouse and the walking path that surrounds it often grabs the attention of professional and amateur photographers.

One late March afternoon, Mays captured this breathtaking photo with her iPhone.

“I was just on one of my regular walks around the reservoir and the sky was breathtaking,” she said. “I knew I had to capture the moment.”

Mays is also the design editor for On The Record, a local blog for Louisville youth.

After graduation, she plans to attend DePaul University.
