Service Area

More than 20% of Kentucky’s population depends on Louisville Water’s product. Our service area includes vibrant cities and rural communities. We provide drinking water to Louisville Metro, Bullitt and Oldham counties with retail service and in Bullitt, Hardin, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby and Spencer counties through partnerships with other water providers.

Partnerships with other water providers are an important piece of our economic development strength. Investments in manufacturing and distilling in Hardin, Nelson and Shelby counties depend on a supply from Louisville Water. We also operate the water treatment facilities through a partnership with the River Ridge Commerce Center.

Louisville Water excels in reliability. We deliver our water through more than 4,200 miles of water mains and systems of tanks, pumps and valves. Our distribution system is just as good as the water quality, ranking in the top 1% for maintaining that quality from our tap to yours.

Louisville Water is considered a national model for how to take care of what’s underground. To ensure reliability, we spend millions annually replacing or repairing miles of water main.
