Group events throughout our service area are great opportunities to serve and talk about our high-quality drinking water. We provide service three ways: Louisville pure tap® to GO (our staffed mobile water station), Fill & Chill (a free cooler loan-out program), and product donations (branded bottles, cups, pitchers and coolers to make serving tap water easy).
This year, we reached 1,309,501 people through the Louisville pure tap® program. That’s more people than there are in our entire service area! We’re on a mission to make tap water the drink of choice — to let people know it’s the most affordable, convenient, and sustainable way to quench your thirst.
Louisville pure tap® to GO
Hydration is critical at sporting events! Louisville Water supports many
major races in our area, such as the Louisville Triple Crown of Running, the Kentucky Derby Festival minimarathon/Marathon, the Tour de Lou, the Fall Runathon, the Iron Man competition, and the Mayor’s semi-annual Hike, Bike and Paddle.
Louisville City Football Club values the local tap water so much they asked us for a partnership! Healthy hydration training for their soccer camps, a water station on Fan Appreciation Night, and a branded water bottle fill station at their new stadium are good ways to highlight our drinking water.
For the first time, we were able to serve tap water at the Norton Children’s Hospital Splash ‘n’ Dash Walk/Run — an event born out of the tragic death of 15-year-old Max Gilpin due to heat-related illness. His mother, Michele Crockett, has dedicated her life to educating the public on proper hydration and has partnered with Norton Children’s Hospital to bring the walk/run to life. The event also serves as a fundraiser to help provide care for children in need.
While our “You Can’t Top The Tap” jingle didn’t make it to the top of the music charts, our water is appreciated by music lovers across the globe! We’re so popular some fans want to know why we aren’t at every music festival in town! They’ve come to expect their favorite drinking water at WFPK Waterfront Wednesdays and The Local Lineup at Against The Grain Brewery. We’ve expanded to new venues, like Old Forester’s Paristown Hall and Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Expo Center.
Louisville is known for its local flavors. From unique eateries to great bourbon, there are lots of opportunities to taste! What’s the best complement to all the rich flavors one can find here? Louisville pure tap®, of course! We are the key ingredient to your favorite dishes, local craft brew, and the rocks for your spirits. Even better, we cleanse palates and keep folks hydrated as they taste their way through our city. Find us at the Taste of Derby Festival, BourbonVille, WineFest, BeerFest, Kentucky Craft Bash, World Fest, Taste of Louisville, and more!
Of course, Louisville Water offers a variety of signature events where Louisville pure tap® is a regular — Walking Wednesdays, the Louisville pure tap® 5k, and Trick or Treatment.
Local businesses are critical to our economy, and they make the perfect brand ambassadors. More than 100 of them have joined our purely local program and are proud to serve our water. Louisville Water supports efforts to increase awareness about the importance of patronizing local businesses by hosting the Annual Buy Local Fair at Louisville Water Tower Park, tabling at the Local Business Expo, supporting South Points Buy Local Fair and NULU Block Fest with ice-cold Louisville pure tap®, and sponsoring a Frankfort Avenue Business Association Trolley Hop each year.
Finally, it’s important to support our local communities. By providing a free and sustainable source of drinking water, we help non-profits, neighborhoods, and schools make a big splash with their events. Look for us at WE Day Kentucky, Butchertown Art Fair, back-to-school events, Run for the Red at Fort Knox, VA2K at Veterans Hospital, West Louisville Appreciation Day, National Night Out, and St. Joe’s Picnic for the Kids.
Fill & Chill
This popular cooler loan-out program is a free service to the community. More than 230 reservations were made for over 1,000 coolers this season. This kept our team busy at the sinks sanitizing the containers to ready them for the next check out.
Product Donations
We provided over 622,000 free Louisville pure tap® products to partners, community groups, and non-profits throughout the service area. Sports teams, ministries, environmental groups, and others emphasized the importance of choosing tap water over other drinks by serving and talking about our product.
