We know that many area teachers are working virtually for at least the beginning of this school year. Water is a subject that can be taught in a variety of ways including hands-on activities and experiments in science, social studies, practical living, and health.
Our WaterWorks Museum staff produced eight online videos back in the spring that teachers can use as part of virtual lessons. The Louisville Water Works series included an instructional video and an at-home challenge. We also shared directions for additional challenges and activities that relate to each topic. Topics included tornadoes, water filtration, handwashing, and sugar in drinks.
Currently the WaterWorks Museum is open only for private tours. Email zornrental@lwcky.com for more information on booking a tour. We hope the museum will open for tours to larger school groups soon. For more education related information and resources, contact educationprograms@lwcky.com.
