Bruce appointed to ORSANCO board

Governor Andy Beshear made appointments to state boards and commissions last week, including selecting Louisville Water President & CEO Spencer Bruce as a board member of the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO). Bruce replaces Northern Kentucky Water District President/CEO Charles Lovan on the board. Bruce will serve for a term expiring Sept. 13, 2024.

Bruce has decades of experience in the engineering and water industries. In September 2016, he was appointed as President & CEO of Louisville Water. In January 2016, Bruce served as the company’s interim President & CEO following the retirement of Jim Brammell. Bruce joined Louisville Water in 2006 and has managed the company’s distribution operations and water treatment facilities. He served as the company’s Vice President and Chief Engineer from December 2013 until January 2016.  Prior to Louisville Water, Bruce worked with Rohm Haas holding multiple management positions in maintenance, production, engineering, customer service, and supply chain.

Established in 1948, ORSANCO controls and abates pollution in the Ohio River Basin. ORSANCO is an interstate commission representing eight states and the federal government. Member states include Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
