Director of Water Quality Pete Goodmann was awarded the President’s Service Award from the Association of Clean Water Administrators (ACWA). This award is given annually to members selected for their exceptional service to the association.
Goodmann has been a dedicated member of ACWA since 2009, serving as Kentucky’s main representative as Region 4’s Board Representative and as ACWA Secretary. His work for the association included enhancing their financial reporting and developing the creation of the Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO) workgroup, which continues to look at options available to CSO communities unable to meet water quality standards.
“The recognition by my colleagues of my work with ACWA is very humbling,” said Goodmann. “So many of those folks spend much of their time, in addition to their primary job, advocating for public policy that is protective, reasonable and sustainable. ACWA is an organization of impressive, committed members and leaders. I am honored to be recognized by them.”
The award was announced at their annual meeting this summer, which was held virtually due to coronavirus concerns. Goodmann will receive his award at the ACWA mid-year meeting in March 2021.
