Louisville Pure Tap® 5K is Going to the Dogs in 2023!

Runner at Pure Tap 5kLouisville Water is excited to announce that this year’s Pure Tap 5K will step off at a new location this year with a dog-friendly race!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 9 and join us at Shawnee Park in West Louisville. Louisville Water and the Louisville Sports Commission moved the site due to the restoration project happening at Louisville Water Tower.

Also new this year, we’re teaming up to help raise money for Friends of Metro Animal Services (FOMAS). For an additional $10, you can register your dog.

“I hope the location and the invitation for dogs to join brings a new group of runners and walkers to the event,” said Kelley Dearing Smith, Louisville Water Vice President of Communications and Marketing. While we can’t host the 5k at our traditional location, Shawnee Park is a perfect place to celebrate Louisville’s drinking water and the value of water to a healthy lifestyle.”

Louisville Water cups at Pure Tap 5kLouisville Pure Tap will be flowing at the finish line. Runners and walkers can also hydrate at a water station along the route. You’re welcome to bring your own refillable bottle.

Register for the Pure Tap 5K today! All ages and fitness levels are invited. You can sign up through September 8. Registration is $25. Prices will increase to $30 on August 15.

Dog owners will be required to certify their pet is fully vaccinated. Dogs must also be kept on a leash during the event.

All participants will receive a chip-timed, commemorative t-shirt. Four-legged friends will receive a special bandana.
