WHY?
Based on our records, your outdoor water service line is made of either lead or galvanized steel.
That line was installed years ago and can increase the risk of lead entering your drinking water.
Public health is at the core of Louisville Water’s mission and your drinking water does not contain lead when it leaves our treatment plants. The risk of lead entering your drinking water comes from corrosion of pipes and plumbing that contain lead.
That’s why we want to replace your outdoor service line and reduce your risk.
And we’ll cover the costs!
