Fill up your Glass to Fill your Mental Health Tank

YPAL wellness event 2023One of the positive things that came out of the COVID-19 pandemic is that we raised awareness about the importance of taking care of our mental health. It’s an issue that affects millions of Americans, according to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Louisville Water is proud to be a part of the conversation. Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL) kicked off its Health (Y)Ps! series this month with a focus on mental health.

As one of the sponsors for YPAL’s new health and wellness series, Louisville Water hosted a Pure Tap® hydration bar at the launch event on January 11.

Dozens of people packed Black Jockey’s Lounge to hear from a motivational speaker, engage in small groups, and participate in a Q&A panel discussion with mental health professionals. The event addressed stigmas surrounding mental health, provided information about resources, and offered ideas on how to manage it.

“This event was a great opportunity for us to remind folks what an important role hydration can play in our mental health. With so many impactful speakers, there was a palpable sense of community in the space. I think we all left with a little more connection and optimism!,” said Pure Tap Public Relations Specialist, Kayla Hanak.

One guest echoed that sentiment with her post on social media, saying it was “an amazing mental health event” with the “best Louisville Water” and that she left feeling better.

Upcoming Health (Y)Ps! programs will cover various topics to help young professionals prioritize and maximize taking care of themselves so they can be their best self.
