MSD Cares Campaign Raises Nearly $10K for Louisville Water Foundation

The generosity of Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) employees will help Louisville Water Foundation continue its mission of providing water assistance and education.

The MSD Cares Campaign raised more than $88,000 for seven organizations through employee pledges, donations, and fundraising events. Nearly $10,000 of the contributions will go to Louisville Water Foundation.Louisville Water Foundation logo

MSD Business and Community Partnerships Administrator Tim Moran reports, “MSD employees are donating $700 in cash from events held during the campaign, and employees have pledged $9,022 to LWF through weekly paycheck contributions.”

Moran’s first year of spearheading MSD Cares was rewarding in more ways than one.

“As a new employee, I was excited by all the generosity from my coworkers across the organization,” he said. “It was fun to gather with them and share a bowl of chili, a breakfast plate, and the spirit of giving back to our community.”

In 2024, MSD Cares will benefit Metro United Way, Fund for the Arts, Louisville Water Foundation, WaterStep, Water For People, Engineers Without Borders, and Wednesday’s Child. According to MSD, the annual campaign has raised more than one million dollars in 26 years for nonprofits.
