drops of kindness iconWith more and more people facing financial struggles, Louisville Water decided to increase its annual donation to help fund Drops of Kindness℠, its customer assistance program. On Tuesday, the Board of Water Works approved a $300,000 donation to the Louisville Water Foundation to benefit Drops of Kindness and other water-related charitable activities.

Louisville Water Foundation provides funding to local agencies that in turn offer financial assistance to customers who need help paying their Louisville Water and MSD bills.

Customer assistance is the largest percentage of allocations from Louisville Water Foundation. The Foundation provides funding for customer help to organizations in the three counties (Jefferson, Bullitt, and Oldham) where Louisville Water provides water service directly to customers.

The Foundation provides more than $500,000 of direct bill relief annually to thousands of customers. Funding for the Louisville Water Foundation comes from corporate donations from Louisville Water, MSD, businesses, organizations, the public, as well as employees of Louisville Water and MSD.

About The Louisville Water Foundation

In 2013, Louisville Water Company demonstrated its commitment to the community by establishing the Louisville Water Foundation. The creation of the Foundation consolidates the charitable and philanthropic efforts already carried out by the company behind one unified mission. Additionally, the formation of a separate non-profit entity allows financial support from a broad base of public and private sources, further enhancing the Foundation’s ability to fulfill its mission.
