Jeff KnottJeff Knott, Louisville Water Vice President of Information Technology, is set to retire at the end of the month, marking the conclusion of a tenure that saw several changes in the company’s technology department and the completion of notable projects.

Knott joined Louisville Water in 2019 as Director of IT, bringing with him a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Troy University, an MBA from Bowling Green State University, and more than 30 years of experience leading IT initiatives at organizations such as Dana Holding Corporation, CSC, and Cummings, Inc.

Now, reflecting on his tenure, Knott highlighted the transformation from a fragmented IT structure to a unified, business-driven team.

“The IT department was several departments working independently and not communicating well with each other nor our internal customers,” Knott said. “Since I’ve been here, we are now working as one group with a common focus and dedicated to the support of the business.”

Under Knott’s leadership, the IT department achieved several key milestones. Just a few examples include the development of a comprehensive digital strategy for Louisville Water, the transition to a new Microsoft Teams-based phone system, and the successful relocation of critical servers and storage devices to an off-site platform.
