Louisville Water Launches Made with Pure Tap Program to Highlight Local Businesses

The country’s best tap water is made for more than just drinking it! In fact, life in Louisville is fueled by Louisville Pure Tap®. More than 24,000 businesses rely on our award-winning water and to celebrate that, Louisville Water is launching a video series: Made with Pure Tap.

Made with Pure Tap highlights local businesses that need Louisville Pure Tap to make their products. Initially, the videos will focus on Louisville’s thriving food and beverage scene taking you inside local restaurants, coffee shops, and more.

Louisville Water’s Made with Pure Tap debut spotlights Blak Koffee, located at 1219 W. Jefferson Street. Owner Ronyale Smith opened Blak Koffee in April 2023 to provide a space in West Louisville where people can meet with colleagues, use complimentary Wi-Fi, work remotely, and feel a sense of community and culture. Blak Koffee serves specialty coffees and beverages, pastries, sandwiches, soups, and salads.

“Louisville Pure Tap is a source of pride in the Louisville community and I’m excited to be a part of this program,” Smith said. “A great cup of coffee starts with great tasting water and I know that Louisville Pure Tap makes a difference in the quality of our coffees and espressos.”

“We are so happy to give the Made with Pure Tap seal of approval to local businesses who understand the value of our award-winning water,” said Channa Newman, Louisville Water’s Education and Outreach Manager. “We’re always encouraging people to drink like a local, either at home or when they’re out and about. We look forward to hearing from the community where the Made with Pure Tap team should visit next.”

Louisville Water’s recognition for its drinking water comes from industry peers and consumers. The water treatment plants rank as two of the top 19 in North America for producing quality that excels. In national taste tests, the American Water Works Association has twice named Pure Tap the “best tasting tap water”; and, in consumer surveys, nearly 90% say Louisville’s drinking water is better than other cities they’ve visited.
