Good news travels fast. Over the past 24 hours, more than 2,200 Louisville Water and Louisville MSD customers have received a one-time credit to help pay an outstanding balance. The Metro COVID-19 Relief is a welcomed opportunity for those struggling in our community.
Over the past several weeks, Louisville Water and MSD teams worked diligently to launch a new portal, in collaboration with PromisePay, to help distribute the bill assistance. The one-time credit of up to $500 for Jefferson County residents was sparked by a $4 million donation from Louisville Metro to help pay down the bills of those in our community who are impacted by the pandemic.
Within 24 hours of the Metro COVID-19 Relief launch, more than 2,200 Louisville Water and MSD customers received a credit on their outstanding balance totaling nearly $1 million. Customers are receiving an average credit of $387, and these customers reside in zip codes all over Jefferson County. This assistance is critical during this time as thousands of customers are behind on their water and wastewater bills.
Those who’ve received their credits share sentiments such as:
This was so easy and helps my family so much!
Thank you so much! I can’t tell you how much this will help me. God bless.
Thank you. Rough times are ahead of us. I appreciate any help.
Customers can apply for the credit at LouisvilleWater.com/MetroReliefPortal or call 502.583.6610. If approved, Louisville Water will apply the funds to the outstanding balance. The one-time credit is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
